Thats it folks race over for another year. The rain dried up for the last hour so a nice dry line was there for me to go out on the last stint but 10 mins before the end there was a few more spots of the wet stuff but luckily no problems.
I did suffer on the last go as i forgot to put in my seat insert so was getting banged around like a pinball
with over 75 karts starting it was going to be a busy race but final SDMC reults are

Team A 52nd (29th in class) 963 laps

Team C 46th (22nd in class) 968 laps

Team B 37th (14th in class out of 4o) 987 laps (88 laps down on winner)
with the fastest Sdmc lap time of 1.20.109 fastest lap overall 115.76o

2 hrs to go and the track is very wet and greasy still lots of competitors are spinning off but luckily all of our drivers are managing to keep in a straight line on the black stuff

Just as bob goes out again 9 the rain starts for the 3rd time slowing the times right down at the start of the stint we were 38th team c 51st and team a 55th PIct is bob on damp track at 10:12 am

The aching and tiredness is kicking in on some people now with 4.5 hrs to go

Ahmed on his last stint decided to come in 20 mins early due to fatigue he said he was in a bit of pain and making lots of mistakes so all stints now will be moved forward 15 mins

6:30 ahmed (team b) halfway through his last double stint up to 38rd team c 53rd and team a still in 60th sun is starting to rise getting brighter and warmer again now

At just before 5 dave and colin were out on track having a great dingdong battle with dave getting the upperhand overall just done driver changes and next time service is due team b is 39th team c is 50th 12 laps back and a further 12 laps back in 60th is team a fastest lap for team b is 1.20.376 (s allan) team c 1.20.680 (c fish/c roe) and team a 1.21.968 (c peacock)
So far it has been good clean racing as a whole

Juat come off second stint of 1and a 1/2 hours a few minor incidents involving privateers unforttunaly slowing us down also and just before i was due to come in i came round the top of the hill and in the middle of the track was 2 more privateers who had collided and smashed each other up i had to go sidewards to miss them very lucky not to hit we are now positioned 38 with fastest lap of 1.20.369
Team are a few places down on us and team a in a lowly 68th after new engine and problems in the garage

Just over 8 hours into the race with bob out on track doing a solid reliable drive with the light starting to go down And team b having the sdmc bragging rights in 37th place and only 22 laps behind the leader in who in the pro karts are much faster on the straight but do slow us down on the corners

About 2 hours in to the race the heavens opened for 10 mins so the times dropped dramatilly juast after bob had gone out but he got the times down from 1-40s to 1-23s but was very dissappointed and now cant wait for his next stint.
3 hours into the race i go out when it is dry. And now back in in after my first stint of 1 1/2 hrs when went out We were 57th and now are 42 with my best lap time of 1.20.699 and i have to admit i didnt want to come in. Ahmed is now out there for his first double stint

Sdmc 2010 kart teams

Qualifying is now over team c have club honours finishing 42nd (9th hire) out of 75 karts (40 hire karts) team b 45th (12 hire kart) and team a 63rd (28th hire kart)

After first stint in quali team b 23rd team C 30th and team a 45th with suspected top speed problems yeah right

Its just past midnight, now race day dave b and myself had run round the circuit a bbq and a long chat with the circuit marshalls in our top flat but now its time to try and get some shut eye as we will be up from 6:30 to sticker up karts and SDMC photoshoot if everyone else makes it here etc

Today is the day it all starts properly teams have been setting up yesterday and today there will be lots more coming so very tight on space.

BRITISH 24hr 2010

Well its only 3 weeks now before the 2010 British 24hr kart race (August 28-29th). With a full entry of 78 karts it will be rather busy and exiting as will it be in the paddock here are the teams
